We live near Roundhay Park on the outskirts of Leeds, which is in West Yorkshire in the North of England

We are both work in Higher Education. Janet is Professor of Interactive Systems at Leeds Metropolitan University, specialising in human-computer interaction i.e. how to make computers "user friendly". Rachel is a Senior Lecturer in Musicology at the University of Leeds with particular interest in musical life in Britain in the 18th and 19th centuries and Mozart reception.

For various reasons we are not currently breeding Maremmas, but our dogs are still much loved companions and we retain our interest and concern for the breed.

Other interests include music (Rachel plays Cello with Leeds Symphony Orchestra); dog behaviour and training (Janet is a TTouch practitioner (P1) and is taking an Advanced Diploma in Canine Behaviour Management); agility; antique hunting and auctions; scooters and camper-vans; theatre and cinema of all kinds; and travelling both home and abroad.
